Project DetailsProperty: A 268m2 four bedroom 16th century property
Location: Dormers, near Ashford in Kent
The owners: Dormers is a 16th century four bedroom property in Kent. Spiralling oil costs between 2010 and 2013 drove property owners Mr and Mrs Thwaite to explore alternative heat technologies. Mr and Mrs Thwaite wanted to select a renewable technology which would operate at a low running cost but would be sympathetic to the character of the property. In addition to the ground source heat pump installation the property is also benefiting from two of Stiebel Eltron’s SOL 23 premium flat-plate collector panels that harness solar thermal energy.
Previous heating system: The property was formally run off an oil system
Technology: Stiebel Eltron worked closely with installers from the Reina Group – who specified and fitted a WPF14 SET (S) ground source heat pump which will meet all of the property’s heating and hot water demands.
